Tom Hagen: I’m an attorney for the Corleone family. These men are private detectives hired to protect Vito Corleone. They are licensed to carry firearms. If you interfere you’ll have to appear before a judge in the morning and show just cause.

Don Corleone: You could act like a man.

And if some unlucky accident should befall him…if he should get shot in the head by a police officer, or if he should hang himself in his jail cell, or if he’s struck by a bolt of lightning, then I’m going to blame some of the people in this room.
